Auction result well in line with expectations
In July 2020 Bonhams in New York held the auction American Art, which included the work Thieves by Al Hirschfeld. The price achieved of USD 3,187.50 (€ 2,707.24) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 2,500.00 – 3,500.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Al Hirschfeld - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work A Night At The '21' Club, which sold at auction in April 2012 for USD 8,750.00 (€ 6,614.26).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Juli 2020 führte Bonhams in New York die Auktion American Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Thieves von Al Hirschfeld zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 3.187,50 (€ 2.707,24) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 2.500,00 – 3.500,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von Al Hirschfeld mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit A Night At The '21' Club beobachtet, die im April 2012 für USD 8.750,00 (€ 6.614,26) versteigert wurde.
