Auction result well in line with expectations
In December 2001 Christies in London held the auction 20TH CENTURY BRITISH ART, which included the work Nude in a Garden by Albert Rutherston. It changed hands for a price of GBP 763.75 (€ 1,247.86) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of GBP 600.00 – 800.00. Admittedly, works by Albert Rutherston have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Bather in May 2007 with an auction result of GBP 3,600.00 (€ 5,297.64).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Dezember 2001 führte Christies in London die Auktion 20TH CENTURY BRITISH ART durch, in der auch die Arbeit Nude in a Garden von Albert Rutherston zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von GBP 763,75 (€ 1.247,86) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 600,00 – 800,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Albert Rutherston auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Bather im Mai 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 3.600,00 (€ 5.297,64).
