A top price for Albert-Gabriel Rigolot - as previously expected
In October 2005 Christies in New York held the auction Orientalist Art, which included the work Villagers in the Desert by Albert-Gabriel Rigolot. The price achieved of USD 120,000.00 (€ 100,041.68) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 100,000.00 – 150,000.00. Even if this result could not surprise positively, Villagers in the Desert is the most expensive artwork by Albert-Gabriel Rigolot that we have observed at auctions so far.

Im Oktober 2005 führte Christies in New York die Auktion Orientalist Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Villagers in the Desert von Albert-Gabriel Rigolot zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 120.000,00 (€ 100.041,68) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 100.000,00 – 150.000,00 angegeben worden. Auch wenn das Ergebnis damit nicht positiv überraschen konnte, ist Villagers in the Desert das teuerste Kunstwerk von Albert-Gabriel Rigolot, das wir bisher bei Auktionen beobachtet haben.
