Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work The Holy Family with Saint Anthony of Padua by Moretto da Brescia was auctioned at Christies in London in December 2008, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of GBP 100,000.00 – 150,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for GBP 61,250.00 (€ 64,330.32). However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Moretto da Brescia - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Madonna And Child With A Dog, which sold at auction in January 2010 for USD 350,500.00 (€ 252,703.68).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit The Holy Family with Saint Anthony of Padua von Moretto da Brescia im Dezember 2008 bei Christies in London versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 100.000,00 – 150.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für GBP 61.250,00 (€ 64.330,32) den Besitzer. Für andere Arbeiten von Moretto da Brescia mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Madonna And Child With A Dog beobachtet, die im Januar 2010 für USD 350.500,00 (€ 252.703,68) versteigert wurde.
