Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
The work Samson and Delilah by Alexandre Cabanel was auctioned at Christies in London in December 2019. Here, the upper estimate of GBP 65,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for GBP 68,750.00 (€ 81,254.45). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Alexandre Cabanel achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Birth of Venus in October 2002 with an auction result of USD 834,500.00 (€ 844,550.15).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Die Arbeit Samson and Delilah von Alexandre Cabanel kam im Dezember 2019 bei Christies in London zur Auktion. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von GBP 65.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für GBP 68.750,00 (€ 81.254,45) einen neuen Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Alexandre Cabanel erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The Birth of Venus im Oktober 2002 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 834.500,00 (€ 844.550,15).
