The work Psyché by Alexandre Cabanel was auctioned at Sothebys in New York in May 2019. It achieved a price of USD 150,000.00 (€ 134,541.21), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 25%. Admittedly, works by Alexandre Cabanel have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work The Birth of Venus in October 2002 with an auction result of USD 834,500.00 (€ 844,550.15).

Die Arbeit Psyché von Alexandre Cabanel kam im Mai 2019 bei Sothebys in New York zur Auktion. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von USD 150.000,00 (€ 134.541,21) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 25%. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Alexandre Cabanel auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit The Birth of Venus im Oktober 2002 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 834.500,00 (€ 844.550,15).
