Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Rowing on a pond with a village beyond by Alfred Augustus Glendening, Jun. was auctioned at Christies in New York in December 2011, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 4,000.00 – 6,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 3,500.00 (€ 2,697.91). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Alfred Augustus Glendening, Jun. achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work A Day At The Seaside in December 2013 with an auction result of GBP 32,500.00 (€ 39,092.46).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Rowing on a pond with a village beyond von Alfred Augustus Glendening, Jun. im Dezember 2011 bei Christies in New York versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 4.000,00 – 6.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 3.500,00 (€ 2.697,91) den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Alfred Augustus Glendening, Jun. erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit A Day At The Seaside im Dezember 2013 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 32.500,00 (€ 39.092,46).
