Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Borrowdale by Alfred de Bréanski Jnr. was auctioned at Bonhams in February this year, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 1,500.00 – 2,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 956.25 (€ 901.95). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Alfred de Bréanski Jnr. achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Evening, The Slopes of Ben Nevis; And Ben Tigh in March 2006 with an auction result of GBP 11,400.00 (€ 16,334.15).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Borrowdale von Alfred de Bréanski Jnr. im Februar diesen Jahres bei Bonhams versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 1.500,00 – 2.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 956,25 (€ 901,95) den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Alfred de Bréanski Jnr. erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Evening, The Slopes of Ben Nevis; And Ben Tigh im März 2006 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 11.400,00 (€ 16.334,15).
