Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In May 2014 Christies in London held the auction The Raglan Collection: Wellington, Waterloo and The Crimea And Works of Art from the Collection of the Marquesses of Londonderry, which included the work Figures beside a farm, Winchester Cathedral beyond by Alfred Vickers. Here, the upper estimate of GBP 1,200.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for GBP 1,250.00 (€ 1,536.29). Admittedly, works by Alfred Vickers have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Sandown Bay; On the Medina, Newport, Isle of Wight in November 2003 with an auction result of GBP 5,736.00 (€ 8,234.11).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im Mai 2014 führte Christies in London die Auktion The Raglan Collection: Wellington, Waterloo and The Crimea And Works of Art from the Collection of the Marquesses of Londonderry durch, in der auch die Arbeit Figures beside a farm, Winchester Cathedral beyond von Alfred Vickers zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von GBP 1.200,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für GBP 1.250,00 (€ 1.536,29) einen neuen Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Alfred Vickers auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Sandown Bay; On the Medina, Newport, Isle of Wight im November 2003 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 5.736,00 (€ 8.234,11).
