Auction result well in line with expectations
In May 2015 Christies in New York held the auction Latin American Art, which included the work Fachada (No. 1342) by Alfredo Volpi. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 200,000.00 – 300,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 215,000.00 (€ 195,561.22) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Alfredo Volpi - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Bandeirinhas estruturadas, which sold at auction in November 2011 for USD 842,500.00 (€ 626,254.37).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Mai 2015 führte Christies in New York die Auktion Latin American Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Fachada (No. 1342) von Alfredo Volpi zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 200.000,00 – 300.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 215.000,00 (€ 195.561,22) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Für andere Arbeiten von Alfredo Volpi mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Bandeirinhas estruturadas beobachtet, die im November 2011 für USD 842.500,00 (€ 626.254,37) versteigert wurde.
