Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Bathers with Greyhoud by Allan Gwynne-Jones was auctioned at Christies in London in March 2004. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 800.00 – 1,200.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 836.50 (€ 1,252.16) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Allan Gwynne-Jones have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Torth Hovis a Chyllell (Hovis Loaf and Knife) in May 2007 with an auction result of GBP 6,600.00 (€ 9,712.35).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Bathers with Greyhoud von Allan Gwynne-Jones kam im März 2004 bei Christies in London zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 800,00 – 1.200,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 836,50 (€ 1.252,16) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Allan Gwynne-Jones auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Torth Hovis a Chyllell (Hovis Loaf and Knife) im Mai 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 6.600,00 (€ 9.712,35).
