This price was achieved in the auction Old Master Drawings at Christies in London and exceeded the previously set upper estimate of GBP 10,000.00 many times over. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Alonso Cano; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Santa Maria Maddalena dei Pazzi sold at auction in December 2021 with the realized price of GBP 126,000.00 (€ 150,291.57).
