Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Improvizáció három formára (Segmented forms) by András Mengyán was sold in the 20th Century Art: A Different Perspective auction at Sothebys in London in November 2021. The price achieved of GBP 10,080.00 (€ 11,834.87) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 8,000.00 – 12,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by András Mengyán - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Logic of Forms (Permutation of Three Unit Forms in Plane without Repetition), which sold at auction in April last year for EUR 23,940.00.

Die Arbeit Improvizáció három formára (Segmented forms) von András Mengyán wurde im November 2021 in der Auktion 20th Century Art: A Different Perspective bei Sothebys in London versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 10.080,00 (€ 11.834,87) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 8.000,00 – 12.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von András Mengyán mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Logic of Forms (Permutation of Three Unit Forms in Plane without Repetition) beobachtet, die im April letzten Jahres für EUR 23.940,00 versteigert wurde.
