Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Snow Wall Grise Fiord, Ellesmere Island 5 April 1989 by Andy Goldsworthy was auctioned at Phillips in an online auction in June 2020. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 2,000.00 – 3,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 2,125.00 (€ 2,340.32) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Andy Goldsworthy achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work (i) British Museum (Stonework) (ii) Stonework in February 2005 with an auction result of GBP 28,800.00 (€ 41,763.69).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Snow Wall Grise Fiord, Ellesmere Island 5 April 1989 von Andy Goldsworthy kam im Juni 2020 bei Phillips in einer Online-Auktion zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 2.000,00 – 3.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 2.125,00 (€ 2.340,32) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Andy Goldsworthy erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit (i) British Museum (Stonework) (ii) Stonework im Februar 2005 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 28.800,00 (€ 41.763,69).
