The »bidding war« ended at USD 151,200.00 (€ 139,252.16), 26% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Grandma Moses have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Sugaring Off in November 2006 with an auction result of USD 1,360,000.00 (€ 1,025,563.68).

Die Arbeit The Checkered House In 1717 von Grandma Moses wurde im Januar diesen Jahres in der Auktion Important Americana bei Christies in New York versteigert. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 151.200,00 (€ 139.252,16) und damit 26% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Grandma Moses auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Sugaring Off im November 2006 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 1.360.000,00 (€ 1.025.563,68).
