In June 2002 Christies in Melbourne held the auction CONTEMPORARY ART, which included the work The Sunbather #2 by Anne Zahalka. The »bidding war« ended at AUD 4,700.00 (€ 2,683.81), 34% above the upper estimate. Other works by Anne Zahalka have achieved even higher prices, we observed the highest auction result so far of AUD 5,520.00 (€ 3,245.32) in August 2009 for the work Australian Cole Classic Ii (The Second Wave) (From The Series Leisureland).
