Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work A North African Port by Antoine Léon Morel-Fatio was auctioned at Christies in London in November 2004, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of GBP 2,000.00 – 3,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for GBP 1,912.00 (€ 2,750.40). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Antoine Léon Morel-Fatio achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Prise À L'Abordage Du Transport Anglais Les Deux-Jumeaux Par L'Heureuse-Tonton, Dans La Baltique, En 1813 in November 2015 with an auction result of EUR 86,120.00.
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit A North African Port von Antoine Léon Morel-Fatio im November 2004 bei Christies in London versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 2.000,00 – 3.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für GBP 1.912,00 (€ 2.750,40) den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Antoine Léon Morel-Fatio erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Prise À L'Abordage Du Transport Anglais Les Deux-Jumeaux Par L'Heureuse-Tonton, Dans La Baltique, En 1813 im November 2015 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 86.120,00.
