In October 2019 Sothebys in London held the auction 20th Century Art / Middle East, which included this untitled work by Antoine Malliarakis Mayo. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 3,750.00 (€ 4,349.73), 25% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Antoine Malliarakis Mayo achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Egyptian ismailia, Le Marché Arabe (Ismailia, The Arab Market) in November 2017 with an auction result of USD 100,000.00 (€ 84,047.74).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 25 % übertroffen
Im Oktober 2019 führte Sothebys in London die Auktion 20th Century Art / Middle East durch, in der auch diese Arbeit ohne Titel von Antoine Malliarakis Mayo zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 3.750,00 (€ 4.349,73) und damit 25% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Antoine Malliarakis Mayo erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Egyptian ismailia, Le Marché Arabe (Ismailia, The Arab Market) im November 2017 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 100.000,00 (€ 84.047,74).
