The work The Royal Thames Yacht Club's steam yacht Hiawatha in Neapolitan waters by Antonio de Simone was auctioned at Christies in London in May 2012. The price achieved of GBP 1,000.00 (€ 1,245.96) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 800.00 – 1,200.00. Admittedly, works by Antonio de Simone have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work The Royal Thames Yacht Club schooner Marchesa: In Neapolitan waters (illustrated); and In heavy weather in May 2004 with an auction result of GBP 4,780.00 (€ 7,171.76).
