Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Naples by Antonino Leto was sold in the Old Master & 19th Century European Art, Including Property from The Forbes Collection: The Panorama of Champigny auction at Sothebys in New York in January 2012. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 12,000.00 – 18,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 12,500.00 (€ 9,576.34) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Antonino Leto have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Capri in December 2008 with an auction result of EUR 90,750.00.
