Auction result well in line with expectations
In October 2020 Sothebys in New York held the auction Master Paintings, which included the work The Triumph Of Marcus Furius Camillus, A Cassone Panel by Apollonio di Giovanni. The price achieved of USD 252,000.00 (€ 216,364.73) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 200,000.00 – 300,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Apollonio di Giovanni - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work A Battle Before A Walled City, Perhaps The Siege Of Assisi, which sold at auction in January 2008 for USD 1,273,000.00 (€ 857,758.91).

Im Oktober 2020 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion Master Paintings durch, in der auch die Arbeit The Triumph Of Marcus Furius Camillus, A Cassone Panel von Apollonio di Giovanni zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 252.000,00 (€ 216.364,73) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 200.000,00 – 300.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von Apollonio di Giovanni mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit A Battle Before A Walled City, Perhaps The Siege Of Assisi beobachtet, die im Januar 2008 für USD 1.273.000,00 (€ 857.758,91) versteigert wurde.
