Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In September this year Bonhams in New York held the auction 19th Century and British Impressionist Art, which included the work Grouse in flight over butts by Archibald Thorburn. Here, the upper estimate of GBP 70,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for GBP 70,250.00 (€ 70,250.00). However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Archibald Thorburn - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Grouse in flight, which sold at auction in June 2010 for GBP 217,250.00 (€ 264,196.22).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im September diesen Jahres führte Bonhams in New York die Auktion 19th Century and British Impressionist Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Grouse in flight over butts von Archibald Thorburn zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von GBP 70.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für GBP 70.250,00 (€ 70.250,00) einen neuen Besitzer. Für andere Arbeiten von Archibald Thorburn mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Grouse in flight beobachtet, die im Juni 2010 für GBP 217.250,00 (€ 264.196,22) versteigert wurde.
