The work Torse de Femme by Aristide Maillol was sold in the Impressionist and Modern Art (Day Sale) auction at Christies in London in June 2007. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 228,000.00 (€ 338,340.53), 52% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Aristide Maillol achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work La Riviere, 1938-1943 in December 2013 with an auction result of EUR 6,033,500.00.

Die Arbeit Torse de Femme von Aristide Maillol wurde im Juni 2007 in der Auktion Impressionist and Modern Art (Day Sale) bei Christies in London versteigert. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 228.000,00 (€ 338.340,53) und damit 52% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Aristide Maillol erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit La Riviere, 1938-1943 im Dezember 2013 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 6.033.500,00.
