Sold at the upper estimate price
In September 2017 Sothebys in London held the auction Yeats: The Family Collection, which included the work Three Photographic Portraits Of W.B. Yeats: by Arnold Genthe. The auction ended at the price of GBP 2,000.00 (€ 2,269.03), which exactly corresponded to the upper end of the estimated price range of GBP 1,500.00 – 2,000.00. Admittedly, works by Arnold Genthe have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work A Mixed Crowd, Old Chinatown, San Fransisco, 1895-1906 in November 2007 with an auction result of GBP 8,125.00 (€ 11,377.10).
Zuschlag beim oberen Schätzpreis
Im September 2017 führte Sothebys in London die Auktion Yeats: The Family Collection durch, in der auch die Arbeit Three Photographic Portraits Of W.B. Yeats: von Arnold Genthe zur Versteigerung kam. Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von GBP 2.000,00 (€ 2.269,03) entsprach exakt dem oberen Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 1.500,00 – 2.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Arnold Genthe auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit A Mixed Crowd, Old Chinatown, San Fransisco, 1895-1906 im November 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 8.125,00 (€ 11.377,10).
