Auction result well in line with expectations
In February 2011 Christies in London held the auction Christie's Interiors, which included the work Figures harvesting grapes in an Alpine vineyard by Arthur Croft. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 600.00 – 800.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 625.00 (€ 736.20) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Arthur Croft have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Early Morning on the Schynige Platte, Swiss Alps in September 2007 with an auction result of GBP 2,250.00 (€ 3,226.33).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Februar 2011 führte Christies in London die Auktion Christie's Interiors durch, in der auch die Arbeit Figures harvesting grapes in an Alpine vineyard von Arthur Croft zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 600,00 – 800,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 625,00 (€ 736,20) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Arthur Croft auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Early Morning on the Schynige Platte, Swiss Alps im September 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 2.250,00 (€ 3.226,33).
