Auction result misses estimated price range
In July this year a collector was able to acquire the work A study of a woman with one hand held to her breast by Arthur Dampier May for USD 768.00 (€ 696.91). This price was achieved in the auction Home & Interiors at Bonhams in London and was even below the estimate range of USD 2,000.00 – 3,000.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Arthur Dampier May achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Before the bath in July 2018 with an auction result of GBP 30,000.00 (€ 33,636.60).
