The work Paramaribo Harbour at sunset by Arthur Eland was sold in the Horizons auction at Christies in Amsterdam in March 2004. The price achieved of EUR 11,950.00 was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as EUR 10,000.00 – 15,000.00. Even if this result could not surprise positively, Paramaribo Harbour at sunset is the most expensive artwork by Arthur Eland that we have observed at auctions so far.
