Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Lion Cubs by Arthur Wardle was sold in the Victorian, Pre-Raphaelite & British Impressionist Art auction at Sothebys in London in July 2018. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 30,000.00 – 50,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 35,000.00 (€ 39,242.70) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Arthur Wardle have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work A Fairy Tale "All seemed to sleep, the timid hare on form" - Scott. in July 2013 with an auction result of GBP 337,875.00 (€ 386,081.08).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Lion Cubs von Arthur Wardle wurde im Juli 2018 in der Auktion Victorian, Pre-Raphaelite & British Impressionist Art bei Sothebys in London versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 30.000,00 – 50.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 35.000,00 (€ 39.242,70) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Arthur Wardle auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit A Fairy Tale "All seemed to sleep, the timid hare on form" - Scott. im Juli 2013 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 337.875,00 (€ 386.081,08).
