Despite a disappointment, a good price for Artus Wolfaerts
When the work A Personification of Winter by Artus Wolfaerts was auctioned at Christies in London in April 2002, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of GBP 12,000.00 – 18,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for GBP 11,750.00 (€ 19,011.19). Despite this disappointing result, A Personification of Winter is the most expensive artwork by Artus Wolfaerts that we have observed at auction so far.
Trotz Enttäuschung ein guter Preis für Artus Wolfaerts
Als die Arbeit A Personification of Winter von Artus Wolfaerts im April 2002 bei Christies in London versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 12.000,00 – 18.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für GBP 11.750,00 (€ 19.011,19) den Besitzer. Trotz dieses enttäuschenden Ergebnisses ist A Personification of Winter das teuerste Kunstwerk von Artus Wolfaerts, das wir bisher bei Auktionen beobachtet haben.
