Auction result well in line with expectations

In July 2013 Christies in London held the auction Old Masters & British Paintings, which included the work An Allegory of Winter by Artus Wolfaerts. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 6,000.00 – 8,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 6,250.00 (€ 7,141.71) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Artus Wolfaerts - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work A Personification of Winter, which sold at auction in April 2002 for GBP 11,750.00 (€ 19,011.19).

Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen

Im Juli 2013 führte Christies in London die Auktion Old Masters & British Paintings durch, in der auch die Arbeit An Allegory of Winter von Artus Wolfaerts zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 6.000,00 – 8.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 6.250,00 (€ 7.141,71) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Für andere Arbeiten von Artus Wolfaerts mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit A Personification of Winter beobachtet, die im April 2002 für GBP 11.750,00 (€ 19.011,19) versteigert wurde.
