Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work A sunlit landscape by Axel Birkhammer was auctioned at Christies in London in June 2002, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of GBP 500.00 – 700.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for GBP 470.00 (€ 726.98). However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Axel Birkhammer - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work A man rowing in an extensive lake landscape, which sold at auction in January 2002 for GBP 998.75 (€ 1,640.95).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit A sunlit landscape von Axel Birkhammer im Juni 2002 bei Christies in London versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 500,00 – 700,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für GBP 470,00 (€ 726,98) den Besitzer. Für andere Arbeiten von Axel Birkhammer mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit A man rowing in an extensive lake landscape beobachtet, die im Januar 2002 für GBP 998,75 (€ 1.640,95) versteigert wurde.
