Auction result misses estimated price range
In August this year a collector was able to acquire the work Untitled (Abstract) by Balraj Khanna for GBP 166.40 (€ 194.46). This price was achieved in the auction Modern and Contemporary South Asian Art Online at Bonhams in Sydney and was even below the estimate range of GBP 200.00 – 300.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Balraj Khanna achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work without title in May 2008 with an auction result of GBP 20,900.00 (€ 26,585.71).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im August diesen Jahres konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit Untitled (Abstract) von Balraj Khanna für GBP 166,40 (€ 194,46) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion Modern and Contemporary South Asian Art Online bei Bonhams in Sydney erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 200,00 – 300,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Balraj Khanna erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit ohne Titel im Mai 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 20.900,00 (€ 26.585,71).
