Auction result well in line with expectations

In September 2003 Christies in London held the auction Old Masters Pictures, which included the work A landscape with a shepherd and his flock at sunset by Balthasar Paul Ommeganck. The price achieved of GBP 1,175.00 (€ 1,183.55) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 1,000.00 – 1,500.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Balthasar Paul Ommeganck achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work A rocky river landscape with herdsmen watering their cattle and sheep; and A rocky river landscape with travellers and a shepherd on a path in December 2006 with an auction result of GBP 9,600.00 (€ 14,247.60).

Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen

Im September 2003 führte Christies in London die Auktion Old Masters Pictures durch, in der auch die Arbeit A landscape with a shepherd and his flock at sunset von Balthasar Paul Ommeganck zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 1.175,00 (€ 1.183,55) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 1.000,00 – 1.500,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Balthasar Paul Ommeganck erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit A rocky river landscape with herdsmen watering their cattle and sheep; and A rocky river landscape with travellers and a shepherd on a path im Dezember 2006 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 9.600,00 (€ 14.247,60).
