Auction result well in line with expectations
The work This is Not a Photo Opportunity by Banksy was sold in the The Now Evening Auction auction at Sothebys in New York in May last year. The price achieved of USD 2,690,000.00 (€ 2,506,756.13) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 2,000,000.00 – 3,000,000.00. Admittedly, works by Banksy have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Love is in the Bin in October 2021 with an auction result of GBP 18,582,000.00 (€ 22,014,651.32).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit This is Not a Photo Opportunity von Banksy wurde im Mai letzten Jahres in der Auktion The Now Evening Auction bei Sothebys in New York versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 2.690.000,00 (€ 2.506.756,13) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 2.000.000,00 – 3.000.000,00 angegeben worden. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Banksy auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Love is in the Bin im Oktober 2021 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 18.582.000,00 (€ 22.014.651,32).
