In September last year Bonhams in London held the auction Blazing a TrailModern British Women, which included the work Winter Quarry by Barbara Rae. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 10,837.50 (€ 12,334.12), 55% above the upper estimate. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Barbara Rae; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Field Altandhu sold at auction in March 2005 with the realized price of GBP 10,200.00 (€ 14,855.24).

Im September letzten Jahres führte Bonhams in London die Auktion Blazing a TrailModern British Women durch, in der auch die Arbeit Winter Quarry von Barbara Rae zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 10.837,50 (€ 12.334,12) und damit 55% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von Barbara Rae; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit Field Altandhu im März 2005 mit dem Hammerpreis von GBP 10.200,00 (€ 14.855,24).
