Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Bari Kumar could be acquired at Sothebys in New York in September 2008 for an unexpectedly low price. In the Modern & Contemporary Indian Art auction, the work Namaste America changed hands for USD 25,000.00 (€ 17,754.42) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 30,000.00 – 40,000.00. Other works by Bari Kumar have also sold for higher prices; the highest price we have seen at auction so far was achieved in May 2008 by the work Silence II at HKD 391,500.00 (€ 32,230.82).

In der Auktion Modern & Contemporary Indian Art wechselte die Arbeit Namaste America für USD 25.000,00 (€ 17.754,42) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 30.000,00 – 40.000,00. Andere Arbeiten von Bari Kumar wurden auch schon teurer gehandelt; den höchsten Preis, den wir bisher bei Auktionen beobachten konnten, erzielte im Mai 2008 die Arbeit Silence II mit HKD 391.500,00 (€ 32.230,82).
