In June last year Artcurial in Paris held the auction Contemporary Art, which included the work Gawk - 2017 by Bernard Frize. The »bidding war« ended at EUR 124,640.00 56% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Bernard Frize - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Toky, which sold at auction in June 2021 for HKD 2,646,000.00 (€ 287,424.21).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 56 % übertroffen
Im Juni letzten Jahres führte Artcurial in Paris die Auktion Contemporary Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Gawk - 2017 von Bernard Frize zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von EUR 124.640,00 und damit 56% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von Bernard Frize mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Toky beobachtet, die im Juni 2021 für HKD 2.646.000,00 (€ 287.424,21) versteigert wurde.
