This artwork by Bert Stern achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in Paris in July 2020. In the Magnificent Nudes: Iconic Photographs from Distinguished Private Collections auction, the work Marilyn Nude On The Bed (From The Last Sitting For Vogue), 1962 sold for EUR 10,625.00 - well above the upper estimate of EUR 5,000.00. Admittedly, works by Bert Stern have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Marilyn Monroe, 'The Last Sitting', 1962, an exhibition presented at seventh 'Mois de la Photo à Paris', 1992 in December 2008 with an auction result of USD 146,500.00 (€ 105,251.81).
