Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Biren De could be acquired at Sothebys in New York in March 2012 for an unexpectedly low price. In the Modern & Contemporary South Asian Art auction, the work The Moment changed hands for USD 8,750.00 (€ 6,562.17) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 12,000.00 – 18,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Biren De achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work September '73 in October 2018 with an auction result of GBP 60,000.00 (€ 67,661.49).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von Biren De konnte im März 2012 bei Sothebys in New York für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion Modern & Contemporary South Asian Art wechselte die Arbeit The Moment für USD 8.750,00 (€ 6.562,17) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 12.000,00 – 18.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Biren De erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit September '73 im Oktober 2018 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 60.000,00 (€ 67.661,49).
