Auction result well in line with expectations
In September 2020 Bonhams in Melbourne held the auction Australian Art | Modern to Contemporary, which included the work Interior, 1986 by Brian Dunlop. The price achieved of AUD 3,904.00 (€ 3,331.63) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as AUD 3,000.00 – 5,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Brian Dunlop - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Eumeralla 2, which sold at auction in May 2002 for AUD 19,387.50 (€ 11,750.00).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im September 2020 führte Bonhams in Melbourne die Auktion Australian Art | Modern to Contemporary durch, in der auch die Arbeit Interior, 1986 von Brian Dunlop zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von AUD 3.904,00 (€ 3.331,63) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit AUD 3.000,00 – 5.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von Brian Dunlop mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Eumeralla 2 beobachtet, die im Mai 2002 für AUD 19.387,50 (€ 11.750,00) versteigert wurde.
