In April 2011 Sothebys in Hong Kong held the auction The Ullens Collection - The Nascence of Avant Garde China, which included the work Banana Plant No. 8 by Cai Jin. The »bidding war« ended at HKD 275,000.00 (€ 23,898.52), 53% above the upper estimate. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Cai Jin; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Banana Plant No. 18 sold at auction in April 2011 with the realized price of HKD 400,000.00 (€ 34,761.49).

Im April 2011 führte Sothebys in Hong Kong die Auktion The Ullens Collection - The Nascence of Avant Garde China durch, in der auch die Arbeit Banana Plant No. 8 von Cai Jin zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von HKD 275.000,00 (€ 23.898,52) und damit 53% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von Cai Jin; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit Banana Plant No. 18 im April 2011 mit dem Hammerpreis von HKD 400.000,00 (€ 34.761,49).
