Auction result well in line with expectations
In April 2014 Christies in Hong Kong held the auction Asia+: 20th Century and Contemporary Art, which included the work Unknown by Cai Jin. It changed hands for a price of HKD 112,500.00 (€ 10,463.23) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of HKD 80,000.00 – 120,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Cai Jin - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Banana Plant No. 18, which sold at auction in April 2011 for HKD 400,000.00 (€ 34,761.49).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im April 2014 führte Christies in Hong Kong die Auktion Asia+: 20th Century and Contemporary Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Unknown von Cai Jin zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von HKD 112.500,00 (€ 10.463,23) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von HKD 80.000,00 – 120.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Cai Jin mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Banana Plant No. 18 beobachtet, die im April 2011 für HKD 400.000,00 (€ 34.761,49) versteigert wurde.
