Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Cecil Arthur Hunt could be acquired at Christies in London in July 2010 for an unexpectedly low price. In the Christie's Interiors auction, the work The monastery of Saint Nikolaos on the Mountain of the Holy Spirit of Meteroa changed hands for GBP 375.00 (€ 450.90) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 400.00 – 600.00. Admittedly, works by Cecil Arthur Hunt have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work A storm on Loch Awe, Argyllshire in November 2003 with an auction result of GBP 2,868.00 (€ 4,117.06).
