Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In July 2001 Christies in London held the auction 19TH CENTURY EUROPEAN ART, which included the work Desert Travellers, Biskra by Charles James Theriat. Here, the upper estimate of GBP 3,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for GBP 3,055.00 (€ 4,974.85). Admittedly, works by Charles James Theriat have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work American Playing The Derbakeh, Biskra in March 2009 with an auction result of USD 50,000.00 (€ 37,704.55).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im Juli 2001 führte Christies in London die Auktion 19TH CENTURY EUROPEAN ART durch, in der auch die Arbeit Desert Travellers, Biskra von Charles James Theriat zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von GBP 3.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für GBP 3.055,00 (€ 4.974,85) einen neuen Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Charles James Theriat auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit American Playing The Derbakeh, Biskra im März 2009 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 50.000,00 (€ 37.704,55).
