Auction result well in line with expectations
In November 2001 Christies in London held the auction BRITISH AND CONTINENTAL PICTURES, which included the work Figures rowing on a loch by Charles L. Shaw. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 400.00 – 600.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 411.25 (€ 654.43) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Charles L. Shaw have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Resting before the cottage in March 2000 with an auction result of GBP 2,070.00 (€ 3,442.50).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im November 2001 führte Christies in London die Auktion BRITISH AND CONTINENTAL PICTURES durch, in der auch die Arbeit Figures rowing on a loch von Charles L. Shaw zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 400,00 – 600,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 411,25 (€ 654,43) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Charles L. Shaw auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Resting before the cottage im März 2000 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 2.070,00 (€ 3.442,50).
