Auction result misses estimated price range
In April 2018 a collector was able to acquire the work View Of The Colosseum With The Basilica Dei Santi Giovanni E Paolo Al Celio, Rome by Charles Michel-Ange Challe for USD 2,500.00 (€ 2,070.56). This price was achieved in the auction Old Masters Online at Sothebys in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 3,000.00 – 4,000.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Charles Michel-Ange Challe achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Venus reclining in July 2014 with an auction result of GBP 31,250.00 (€ 39,416.08).
