In January 2021 Christies in New York held the auction The Collection of Mr. & Mrs. John H. Gutfreund 834 Fifth Avenue, which included the work Design for a royal theater by Charles-Nicolas Cochin the Younger. The »bidding war« ended at USD 15,000.00 (€ 12,360.94), 50% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Charles-Nicolas Cochin the Younger - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work A seated couple playing backgammon by candlelight, which sold at auction in July 2003 for GBP 33,460.00 (€ 43,734.48).

Im Januar 2021 führte Christies in New York die Auktion The Collection of Mr. & Mrs. John H. Gutfreund 834 Fifth Avenue durch, in der auch die Arbeit Design for a royal theater von Charles-Nicolas Cochin the Younger zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 15.000,00 (€ 12.360,94) und damit 50% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von Charles-Nicolas Cochin the Younger mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit A seated couple playing backgammon by candlelight beobachtet, die im Juli 2003 für GBP 33.460,00 (€ 43.734,48) versteigert wurde.
