In July 2010 Christies in London held the auction Christie's Interiors, which included the work 'The Lark' by Charles Robinson. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 750.00 (€ 901.79), 50% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Charles Robinson have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Illustrations for Aesop's Fables: The fox and the bunch of grapes; and The fox with the cropped tail (both illustrated) in December 2004 with an auction result of GBP 5,019.00 (€ 7,103.27).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 50 % übertroffen
Im Juli 2010 führte Christies in London die Auktion Christie's Interiors durch, in der auch die Arbeit 'The Lark' von Charles Robinson zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 750,00 (€ 901,79) und damit 50% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Charles Robinson auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Illustrations for Aesop's Fables: The fox and the bunch of grapes; and The fox with the cropped tail (both illustrated) im Dezember 2004 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 5.019,00 (€ 7.103,27).
