Auction result well in line with expectations
In December 2008 Christies in London held the auction Christie's Interiors, which included the work Grapes, melon, peaches and a tankard on a table by Charles Thomas Bale. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 1,500.00 – 2,500.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 1,625.00 (€ 1,706.72) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Charles Thomas Bale - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Pineapples, Grapes, Plums and Pears on a Silver Tray with a Jar on a Draped Wooden Ledge, which sold at auction in February 2003 for USD 7,170.00 (€ 6,651.82).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Dezember 2008 führte Christies in London die Auktion Christie's Interiors durch, in der auch die Arbeit Grapes, melon, peaches and a tankard on a table von Charles Thomas Bale zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 1.500,00 – 2.500,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 1.625,00 (€ 1.706,72) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Für andere Arbeiten von Charles Thomas Bale mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Pineapples, Grapes, Plums and Pears on a Silver Tray with a Jar on a Draped Wooden Ledge beobachtet, die im Februar 2003 für USD 7.170,00 (€ 6.651,82) versteigert wurde.
