Auction result well in line with expectations
The work The amateur barber; and Contrary winds by Charles Thomas Bale was auctioned at Christies in London in October 2010. The price achieved of GBP 687.50 (€ 792.70) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 600.00 – 800.00. Admittedly, works by Charles Thomas Bale have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Pineapples, Grapes, Plums and Pears on a Silver Tray with a Jar on a Draped Wooden Ledge in February 2003 with an auction result of USD 7,170.00 (€ 6,651.82).
